Fourth Bridget Jones film will have Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant back

Date:

Bridget Jones will return to theaters with Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant reprising their iconic characters from the 2001 comedy.

With this, Universal Pictures and Working Title announced that the fourth film will be an adaptation of “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy”, a book released in 2013 (via THR).

Emma Thompson, who appeared in “Bridget” Jones’ Baby in 2016, will also be back in the cast, which also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) and Leo Woodall (White Lotus). Michael Morris (To Leslie) will direct, and Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding wrote the script.

In “Crazy About the Boy,” Bridget finds new levels of embarrassment as tweets and other texts are added to her famous diary. She is now a mother, a widow, over 50 years old, but will still get involved in hot relationships, including with a 30-year-old young man.

The film will be released on February 14, 2025 on Peacock, in the USA, and is expected to gain international distribution in theaters.
