Michael Mann wants to film the sequel to ‘Heat’ in 2024

Date:

The sequel to the classic “Heat” is, in fact, Michael Mann’s next project after “Ferrari”. In an interview with the Economic Times, the filmmaker went further and said that it shouldn’t take long to start filming.

Therefore, the idea is that the production will begin recording in the summer of the northern hemisphere, between June and September.

According to Mann, he is putting the finishing touches on the script, which he says is both a prelude and a sequel to the 1995 classic.

The script, it is worth remembering, is adapted from the book written by the director himself, “Heat 2”, released in 2022.

There is no official information about the cast, but it is likely that Adam Driver will return to work with Mann and play thief Neil MacCauley, a role that in the original went to Robert De Niro.

Released in 1995, “Heat” is one of the most revered action films of its decade. Co-starring De Niro and Al Pacino, the cast also includes Val Kilmer, Jon Voight, Natalie Portman and more.

The story follows the routine of a thief (De Niro) who wants to pull off his last hit before retiring, but is pursued by the ruthless detective Vincent (Pacino).
