About 12 commercial aircraft in several European countries were targeted by bomb threats on Thursday, Nov. 5, prompting responses from explosives specialists and military forces. European media reports initially identified incidents involving eight aircraft; four more planes bound for the Czech Republic also received threats.

One of the affected aircraft was an Aer Lingus Airbus A320 flying from Dublin, Ireland, to Rome, Italy. After a bomb threat, the plane was diverted to Évreux military air base in France.

The aircraft was carrying 151 passengers and six crew members. No one was injured. Explosives-disposal teams were also dispatched to inspect the plane, while authorities monitored the reported threats.

The incidents came amid a week of bomb threats involving commercial flights in Europe. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, at least seven aircraft and a cruise ship were targeted by alerts in different countries, leading to diversions, inspections and temporary disruptions at airports.
